EV and EV/6B solenoid valves are normally closed valves. They hold the valve open by means of electrically driven electromagnetic coils. These valves are designed to activate the valve to cut off the gas flow when the sensor detects a gas leak or an electrical interruption. These valves can be manually reset after the cause of emergency failure has been eliminated. In addition, in order to maintain a high level of safety, these valves can only be reset when the line is energized and the gas sensor does not detect any danger (a positive safety feature).
Working principle
These valves can only be manually reset in order to detect and eliminate the cause of the emergency. To simplify the reset operation, all EV/6B series valves and all flanged valves in the EV series are equipped with double RAMS to prevent the installation of a bypass system between the upstream and downstream solenoid valves in the pipeline. For double ram reset solenoid valves, the operating instructions attached to each package should be followed. For threaded EV series valves with only one ram, the aluminum handle mounted on the solenoid valve guide should be pulled to reverse position.
Installation matters
1. Never use the catheter as a balancing lever to install the valve.
2. Ensure that the pipe is straight and there are no obstacles or dust in the pipe.
3. The fluid direction should conform to the direction of the arrow printed on the valve body.
4. Check that all parameters, such as pressure, voltage, temperature, and other parameters, meet the requirements.
5. Avoid contact with plastered walls when installing valves.
6. Do not plug or block the handle guide rod, because this will affect the function of the valve.
7. Install an appropriate gas filter upstream of the valve.
8. If the solenoid valve is installed outside, it is usually recommended to protect it with atmospheric media.
9. The electrical connection of the coil must be operated by professionally qualified personnel and comply with mandatory regulations.
